Grafenwoeh-Post War

German Fallschirmjaeger Ardennes 1944
With the beginning of World War II, new German divisions were positioned at the training area for deployment to various areas in the European theater. The end of the war was marked in Grafenwoehr by two devastating allied bombing raids April 5 and 8, 1945.
The area was originally established to support the Royal Bavarian Army’s 3rd Corps. It has served as a training ground for German soldiers in two world wars
